Hastelloy C276 hex bolts vs 316 hex head bolt
The bolts and nuts are made in different material grades. The most common is the 304 grade and the second mostly used is the 316 grade. The c276 grade bolts are rare. The c276 hex bolts are used in high temperature applications with high corrosion prone operations. The 316 hex head bolts are used against general corrosion and chloride iron corrosion. The application of 316 hex head bolts can be seen in food grade applications, marine and sea water applications, water lines and in other general corrosive applications. These are cheaper compared to c276 alloy hex bolts. The c276 hex bolts are used in chemical processing applications mostly. They do not corrode easily under severe conditions such as concentrated acids, alkalis and in heat exchangers at very high temperatures as well.
