In the stainless and nickel industries, Pump Shaft Quality (PSQ) indicates turned, ground and polished shafting used in the rotating industries. The tight diametrical tolerance achieved through grinding decreases wear and gives a more constant product with controlled properties. Our inventory consists of diametrically oversized material in 20’ to 24’ random lengths, allowing Raaj Sagar to meet very specific customer requests for nonstandard PSQ requirements on an expedited basis.
Raaj Sagar is a leading provider of stainless steel & nickel alloy pump shaft quality (PSQ) bars as well as custom bars that have been specially processed for high performance. PSQ indicates turned, ground and polished shafting used in rotating applications. The treatment to these bars leads to a tighter diameter tolerance by reducing the effects of wear while maintaining optimal functionality. Straightening treatments also enhance the performance of PSQ bars, ensuring they create minimal vibration through the entire shaft length. The result is a more efficient, reliable and high-performing pumping system.
Historically, pump shaft quality bars have been used in pump system manufacturing but more applications now require a tighter diameter tolerance. We are uniquely capable of accommodating customer requests for custom PSQ bars by offering quick and efficient customization of stock PSQ bar products at our Houston facility. Custom grades are available for most stainless and nickel alloy applications.
Custom sizes can be produced in standard or metric dimensions with specific tolerances including ovality and straightness per our customers requirements.
Although standard shafts are 20’ random lengths, NSA has oversized bar stock in shafting grades up to 24’ or loner that can be processed to meet our customers requirements.
The industry standard finish for PSQ is 32 RMS (Root Mean Square). We order PSQ at the industry standard and can supply up to an 8 RMS or better to offer our customers a superior product based on their specifications.
